Join us on Saturday, 27 September 2025, for Nepal Day, a vibrant celebration of Nepali culture, heritage, and storytelling at Manchester Museum (University of Manchester, Oxford Road, M13 9PL).

Running from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, this free, drop-in event hosted in collaboration with Manchester Nepali Samaj and the South Asia Gallery offers something for everyone, with a full afternoon of immersive activities and displays:

  • Temporary exhibition of everyday domestic items and artefacts, including musical instruments, sculptural artwork, jewellery, cooking and culinary items, and fabrics/clothing-objects meaningful to members of the Nepali-speaking diaspora.
  • Children’s and family activities, alongside cultural performances and yoga, representing Nepal’s regional, socio-cultural, linguistic, and ethnic diversity.
  • Audio-visual presentations and photography, highlighting Nepal’s cultural and natural biodiversity, including a special digital exhibition on “Insects of Nepal.”
