While the local calendar marks 2026, the Manchester Nepali Samaj officially stepped into the year 2083 on April 12th. It was a straightforward, lively afternoon where the focus remained exactly where it should be: on catching up with friends and enjoying the vibrant company of our community members.
The energy in the room was high from the very start, especially as the children took to the stage for their dance performances. Seeing the younger generation put so much effort into their routines is always a highlight, and they did a fantastic job of setting a joyful tone for the rest of the day. That momentum only grew as the afternoon transitioned into music. Our community members took over the microphones, and the songs they performed truly hit the mark. The music was so infectious that it got the entire crowd up and jumping along, creating a atmosphere of pure celebration. We are incredibly grateful for that kind of enthusiasm; it is that specific energy that keeps these events alive and makes all the planning worthwhile.
Of course, no New Year gathering is complete without sharing a meal. We enjoyed a great spread of food that gave everyone a chance to sit back, refuel, and have a proper chat. It was the perfect way to mark the start of 2083 no over-the-top formalities, just good music, active crowds, and plenty of laughs.
