Manchester, December 22, 2024 – The second Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Manchester Nepali Samaj was held last 22nd December, bringing together members of the community to discuss the year’s achievements and future plans. The highlight of the meeting was the election of Dr. Damodar Khanal as the new president, along with the introduction of a newly formed executive committee.
A New Chapter of Leadership
Dr. Damodar Khanal, a long-time member and dedicated supporter of the Manchester Nepali Samaj, was unanimously elected as the president. His vision for the organization includes expanding cultural outreach programs, enhancing community support services, and fostering closer ties with local authorities and organizations. Dr. Khanal expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and reiterated his commitment to leading the community forward.
Introduction of the Executive Committee
In addition to Dr. Khanal, the AGM saw the election of a new executive committee comprising enthusiastic and committed members. The new team includes:

During the meeting, outgoing president Mr. Jiban Gautam presented a comprehensive report highlighting the achievements of the past year. Also, Mr. Sher Ghale, the former Treasurer, presented the annual financial report. The report provided a comprehensive overview of the organization’s financial health, covering key aspects such as income, expenses, and projected budgets for the upcoming year. Mr Ghale outlined the efforts to ensure transparency and accountability, highlighting significant financial achievements and challenges faced over the past year.
